Registered & accountable
Food security is a daily concern in Cameroon
Across the country, many families contend with food insecurity driven by regional conflict, climate-related shocks, and rising prices — a strain that falls hardest on children, isolated rural communities, and workers with the least cushion to absorb it.
Large international agencies such as the World Food Programme and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies run emergency food aid, farming support, and cash-assistance efforts at national scale. FLAW Cameroon works at the community level alongside that broader effort — closer to the ground, and often first to notice when a household is struggling.
Food is also identity here. Shared dishes like ndolé, built around leafy greens and groundnuts, sit at the center of daily life — which is part of why a shared meal, and not just a food parcel, matters to how we show up for people.
A support network that reaches further
Partners and diaspora members abroad regularly gather food, clothing, and supplies that are shipped or hand-carried back into our programs on the ground.
